Award-winning HÅG Futu chair now shipping from izzy
Elegant HÅG Futu office chair singled out for Environment Prize and Award for Design Excellence in furniture
SPRING LAKE, Mich. – March 25, 2009 – izzy, a Spring Lake, Mich.-based office furniture company, now offers the award-winning HÅG Futu office chair for order and shipping.
This month, HÅG Futu earned the Norwegian Design Council’s Environment Prize for developing a product or solution with significant environmental properties.HÅG Futu is 97 percent recyclable and made of more than 40 percent post-consumer materials. To reduce environmental impact, the backrest contains no foam. The chair is constructed without chrome, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or glue. The entire chair is designed for disassembly, including components individually labeled to identify material content.
The Council also awarded the 2009 Award for Design Excellence in the furniture design category to HÅG for the Futu chair, designed by HÅG Design Studio. This award recognizes companies that successfully use design to create innovative products and solutions. HÅG Futu neatly packages more function in less space. HÅG Futu weighs only 35.3 pounds with arms, and is made of just seven different materials. Its three-dimensional FutuKnit upholstery is precisely shaped and fitted for resilient elasticity.
