New Sideways from HÅG by izzy wins Best of NeoCon® Gold Award for conference seating
Seating design also won top honors at U.K.'s Design Prima, June 3-5

HAG SidewaysCHICAGO - June 2008 - The new Sideways conference chair presented by HÅG by izzy earned top category honors June 9 at NeoCon World's Trade Fair 2008, an industry acknowledgment of how collaboration is changing the face of conference and business meeting behavior.

The Gold Award marks seven out of eight years that izzydesign and its strategic partners have earned NeoCon honors. And it was the second award within a week for HÅG Sideways™, which won recognition in the U.K.'s Design Prima competition in London, June 3-5, 2008.

Designed by HÅG and Formel Industrial Design, the new HÅG Sideways chair offers 180 degrees of freedom of movement and 360 degrees of communication. This open design and its comfortable rocking motion are redefining how business conferencing is happening and where it's headed, says Tim Ruffini, director of brand management at izzydesign. "At izzy, our belief in The New Workstyles means that you don't even need a table in some conference rooms when you've got a chair like HÅG Sideways. Instead of putting a new design on the traditional conference chair, we're ahead of the curve, and we're very excited this direction was validated by the NeoCon product jurors."

The Sideways chair from HÅG by izzy features a visually arresting back grid option. Its open scope of movement encourages people to sit sideways in a way that feels as natural as focusing forward. Its clean, human-centered design features a black armrest that doubles as a handle behind the plastic or upholstered back.

HÅG Sideways is ISO 14025 certified and GREENGUARD certification is pending. The four-star base model is made from 72 percent recycled content while the stackable sled-base model is made of 51 percent recycled content. The components of both models are 98 percent recyclable.

While inviting variation of movement with a balanced tilt and beveled seat, HÅG Sideways also instills harmony through a soft grid of texture and color. The grid back is available in black, ochre, sand and olive with complementary Softgrid™ designer seat fabric. The upholstered back is optional, with more than 100 textile choices available.
